How Physical Fitness correlate to Mental Health!

A healthy mind is always associated with healthy physique. It’s hard to separate the two.
There are many studies happening in kinesiology about the inter-relationship between physical fitness and brain health. Studies mainly focus on the activeness of brain blood vessels towards certain stimulus in both athlete and non-athlete or recreationally active people.

Studies show the fact that people with higher fitness activity have enhanced blood flow towards their brain. Especially in older athletes, the reactivity is associated with the blood vessels of brain.
The measure of attention or concentration is originated from the amount of blood flow towards the brain. The higher the blood flow, the higher the attention. Heart rate is always corelated with the brain blood flow, hence the best kind of exercise for brain health would be the ones that increase the heart rate.

Forms of exercise that combines physical activity with coordination challenges enhances brain health. Example: Dribbling through opponents towards the goal post in soccer games, reactive drills in martial arts, dance forms etc. It’s all about how many brain cells have been used. Brain cells will receive inputs, train itself and starts anticipating for the next levels. Calisthenics, Gymnastics, Dance, Chess, Surfing are best examples for it.

Our generation who mainly focuses on corporate jobs are falling into sedentary lifestyles. Sedentary lifestyle or work style should be changed for a better health life. Instead of emails, walk towards the colleagues and inform the task. Take few breaks and walk, stretch your body and relax your eyes. These are few activities that can be achieved during the worktime. Using stairs over elevator will give a major step towards your fitness goals.
